The majority of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live with family caregivers. Across the country, the needs of these family caregivers are increasing. From the sandwich generation, to working families to aging baby boomers, families need support and connections.
Learn from staff at The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh, The Arc Wisconsin and The Arc’s Center for Future Planning about ways your chapter can enhance your family support capabilities and resources to caregivers and individuals with I/DD. This session will provide information about family caregivers and care-receivers, types of care, and the impact of care giving over time based on interviews with family caregivers. In addition, learn more about ways to leverage existing partnerships and develop new ones to better support families and individuals with I/DD in your community.
