Calming the Unquiet Mind: An Integrative Understanding and Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Saturday, October 27
4:15 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Tangerine WF2

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) often precedes and is comorbid with mood disorders, substance use disorders, other anxiety disorders, and medical disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder is often misdiagnosed, undertreated, and leads to significant functional impairment and poor quality of life. This session will review the underlying neurobiology associated with anxiety and GAD and existing treatment guidelines. This session will focus on translating evidence-based treatments to the “real world” of the clinician, emphasizing an integrative, holistic approach combining medications, therapy, mindfulness and other novel approaches to achieve functional recovery and quality of life.
