Bipolar Disorder in Women: Considerations across the Reproductive Lifespan

Friday, October 26
10:45 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Tangerine WF4

Many prescribers who treat women of reproductive age do not feel comfortable treating women during pregnancy and the postpartum, or lack sufficient knowledge about the ever-changing literature pertaining to risks and benefits of mood stabilizer treatment across pregnancy and the postpartum. This session is designed to address the course and clinical needs of bipolar disorder across the female lifespan. Gender differences will be addressed, as will specific issues that are relevant to women’s health. In addition, reproductive lifecycle-related clinically important data will be discussed pertaining to pregnancy, the postpartum, the menstrual cycle, and the menopausal transition.
