Housing as Prevention
Issues : For more than 10 years Sucot Shalom / Casa de Paz has been addressing the issue of addiction, street life and the issue of HIV / AIDS in women in a state of social, economic and emotional vulnerability. The work we develop responds to the most felt needs of this population, which in some cases is invisible and socially forgotten due to its precarious state. The coordinated work between the Siloe International Community and our organization has obtained surprising results in this group. Mainly, because the work addressed from the bio-psycho-emotional area is part of the module that we work to recover our population and the groups intervened by our organization.
Description : The Module: How to create a better version of oneself ", comes to answer some questions that women ask themselves when they enter our refuge and want to recover their lives and family.The work plan basically consists in instrumenalizing women with tools emotional that allows them to stay and survive in the different social spaces to which they are subject in everyday life The module comprises three levels and is interconnected with three spatial themes: 1 trans-generational or ancestral to identify inherited aspects and learned behaviors, 2 The sense project or the emotional state that our parents lived and 3 healing our inner child and the exercise of a coherent emotionality.
Lessons learned : 1. High levels of consciousness in women regarding their emotional vulnerability and how they can be addressed from the coherence
2. A significant number of women recovered from their addiction, in medical control and with a defined life project. Many of these have created their own survival systems by allying with each other and living in community.
3. In the case of HIV women, successful results in terms of their medical control, optimal adherence to medications and better life system.
Recommendations : Promote in the intervened groups detailed analyzes on ancestral heritages, shared emotions in families and related topics.
Implement interventions from the language of love and respect, putting the practice learned in the coexistence in the hostel and working with the group from the particularities and generalities in an integral and concatenated
