The 2017 Benchmarks and Trends in Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales study found two benchmarks every show organizer wanting to maintain and/or grow paid Net Square Footage should pay very close attention to:
1. Exhibiting company retention rate is 74%
2. First time exhibiting company retention rate is 39%
• How can you grow (and in some cases maintain) Net Square Footage, when you’re having to replace one out of four (or more) exhibiting companies, to try to stay equal to your previous show?
• How many potential new exhibiting companies are in your market?
• If you continue to churn exhibiting companies at a high rate, at what point will your show flat line, decline, or possibly even disappear?
