Christina Devine is a PhD canditate at Virginia Tech. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech in December 2014. She began working with Dr. Marc Edwards and his research group in the Spring of 2015 as a graduate research assistant in the Civil Engineering. She received her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering in December of 2016. Her main research project involves developing a standardized scaling test protocol that can be reproduced in any lab to determine the effectiveness of various commercial anti-scaling devices on combating scaling issues in water heaters, downstream plumbing and consumer appliances. She has been a member of Virginia Tech’s Flint Water Study team since its start in August 2015.
