MP17-17 - Evolution of Laparoscopic Living Donor Nephrectomy: A Single Institution Experience Comparing 4 Different Techniques during 18 Years

Saturday, September 22

Location: Room 252B

Introduction & Objective :

To analyzed our institution’s experience with 4 different laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (LDN), comparing donor outcomes.

Methods :

A total 1132 living LDNs performed from February 2000 through December 2017 at single center were reviewed. Outcomes were compared among 4 LDN techniques ; . 495 hand assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy(HALDN), 124 pure laparoscopic donor nephrectomy(PLDN), 370 laparoendoscopic single-site plus one-port donor nephrectomy (LESSOP-DN), and 149 mini laparoscopic donor nephrectomy(MLDN).

Results :

LESSOP-DN and MLDN was associated with an older donor population than HALDN. The percentage of men showed a difference in each DNs. MLDN was associated with multiple renal veins than other DNs (table 1). LESSOP-DN and MLDN was associated with shorter time of operation and hospitalized days (HD). However LESSOP-DN and MLDN was associated with longer time of warn ischemia time (WIT) and much changed in Hb (table 2). LESSOP-DN showed high rate of additional port insertion. Perioperative complication rate did not show any significant difference in each group (Table 3).

Conclusions :

Continued improvement of LDN technology based on technological advances kept the incidence of complications low and reduced donor recovery time
