Salvatore Micali, MD

Dr. Salvatore Micali is Associate Professor of urology at the University of Modena, Italy. He has focused his career on advancing surgical care of urological patients. Major areas of interest are Endourology and minimally invasive surgery for treatment of renal and ureteral stones and oncology.
He is author of several studies on urology and surgical techniques in more than one hundred publications on reviews as Journal of Urology and European Urology, as well as chapters in several key medical texts, including Smith's Textbook of Endourology (Wiley-Blackwell, 2016). From 2015 he is section editor for BMC Urology (BioMed Central Ltd) and associate editor for many urological journals.
Dr. Micali is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Urological Association and the European Urological Association. He is member of the executive and scientific board of the Italian Association of Endourology.
Dr. Micali performed 1683 surgical procedures as first operator and he has 142 invited presentations at national and international congresses and courses.
From 2015 he is visiting professor in the department of urology at the Hofstra Northwell school of medicine at the Hofstra Univerity of New York.
