Robert M. Sweet

Dr. Sweet is a Professor of Urology at the University of Washington. With a focus on treating and preventing kidney stones, he serves as a provider as well as the Medical Director of the University of Washington Medicine Kidney Stone Center.
Dr. Sweet is also Executive Director of both the Washington Wyoming Alaska Montana Idaho (WWAMI) Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH) and the UW Center for Research in Education and Simulation Technologies (CREST). He is the Principal Investigator of numerous simulation research and development projects including the Combat Casualty Training Consortium and The Advanced Modular Manikin.
Dr. Sweet has served in leadership positions in the area of simulation and education within the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Endourology Society and the American Urological Association. With a vision of training leaders in Surgical Simulation, he helped develop the Surgical Simulation Fellowship Accreditation Program for the American College of Surgeons Division of Education. He also founded and directed International Fellowship Programs at both the University of Minnesota and the University of Washington. Previously, Dr. Sweet was an AUA Scholar in Simulation Science at the University of Washington and holder of an endowed Chair for Simulation Science at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Sweet has been involved in the founding of two major Simulation Centers: The University of Minnesota’s SimPORTAL and what is now known as WISH at the University of Washington.

Yasser A. Noureldin

Assistant Professor of Urology
Faculty of Medicine, Benha University, Benha, Egypt

Dr. Noureldin completed the urology residency training program at Benha University in Egypt. Following obtaining his Master and Doctorate degrees from Benha University, he completed three-year Postdoctoral Endourology Fellowship at McGill University in Canada. The research interests of Dr. Noureldin include Endourology, SWL, Simulation, and Surgical Education. Dr. Noureldin has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and three book chapters in the Atlas of Laparoscopic and Robotic Urologic Surgery, Surgeons As Educators, and Smith’s Textbook of Endourology (4th edition). He also has an educational video in the Videourology entitled “How to use virtual-reality simulators in assessment of endourologic/robotic skills of urology post-graduate trainees”. Dr. Noureldin won several prestigious scholarships, grants, and awards such as "Joseph Segura MD Scholarship in Endourology and Stone Management" from the American Urological Association, and "CUASF-SIU International Scholarship" from the Canadian Urological Association, and "European Urological Scholarship Program Scholarship" from the European Association of Urology. Furthermore, he won the best presentation during several national and international meetings such as the annual CUA and SIU meetings. Dr. Noureldin completed an American College of Surgeons (ACS) accredited Surgical Simulation Fellowship from the University of Washington in Seattle. Recently, Dr. Noureldin was appointed as assistant professor of urology at Benha University in Egypt.
