Charming, elegant and soft-spoken, Dr. Prem Nath Dogra is currently the Prof. & Head of Department of Urology at the prestigious A.I.I.M.S., New Delhi. Born on 4th November, 1953, Dr. Dogra passed his MBBS in 1978 from Government Medical College, Jammu, M.S. (General Surgery -1982) and M.Ch. (Urology - 1984) from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. He joined A.I.I.M.S as a Assistant Professor in 1986 and rose to his current position of Professor and Head of the Department of Urology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi India .
He has been the President of the Urological Society of India and has been awarded Prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy, National award as a Eminent Medical Teacher in recognition of his contributions to the medical field and conferred Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) .
Dr. Dogra has an impeccable academic standing -over 180 publications in various national & International journals of repute, has contributed chapters in 15 books & was conferred Hon. Degree of D.Sc. by Kolkata University. As a scholar and teacher of outstanding merit. Dr. Dogra has trained over 120 M.Ch postgraduates in Urology currently working all over the country and abroad. Dr. Dogra is an outstanding surgeon interested in all fields of Urology -Endo-Urology, Reconstructive Surgery, Uro-oncology, Laparoscopic & Pioneer in Robotic Urologic Surgery in India.
The list of his accomplishments is unending. Dr. Dogra has delivered the prestigious P.N. Kataria Memorial Oration, and Marudhar Jodhpur Trust Oration from NZUSI, Prof. B.B Ohri Memorial Oration from MP-ASI, Award from International Atomic Energy Agency, New Zealand, Rashtriya Gaurav Award & Glory of India Award by India International Friendship Society. He has also been Visiting faculty to University of South California, Columbia University Medical centre and Cornell Presbygterian Hospitals, USA
