Introduction & Objective :

Pelvic lymph node dissection(PLND) is the most reliable staging method of prostate cancer and may have potential survival benefit.

Methods :

In this study we analyzed our data of pelvic lymph node dissection for prostate cancer retrospectively.

We compared our results of extended and superxtended PLND. PLND was performed for all high-risk patients during robot assisted laparascopic radical prostatectomy. After December 2016 we started using super-extened template. We analyzed lymph node yield and lymph node metastasis according to pathological stage of the disease.

Results :

Between January 2008- December 2017, 755 PLND was performed. After December 2015 super extended template was used. Overall lymph node yield was 18,72 per patient. And overall lymph node metastasis was %13,5. Data according to extension of lymph node dissection and stages are presented in table 1.

Although the lymph node yield was higher in the super extended group the rate of metastasis was similar.

Conclusions :

The super extended template yields more lymph node for more accurate staging. The lymph node invasion rate remains similar.
