Introduction & Objective :
Local recurrence after radical nephrectomy is rare and ranges from 2-7%. Late recurrence are even more rarer. Local recurrence presents a challenge to the surgeon. We performed two such cases of late local recurrences which was managed by minimally invasive methods.
A 36 year old gentleman with history of open Radical nephrectomy for left RCC in 2009, came with c/o pain left abdomen and chest . Previous HPE showed a 7 *5*4 Mixed pattern RCC furhman grade 2. CECT showed recurrence at tumor bed displacing the left adrenal and involving left crus and paravertebral spaces and PET showed activity.
The second case was a 55 year old gentleman who had underwent laparoscopic radical nephrectomy five years ago now presenting with an incidentally detected bed recurrence
Results : Robot assisted laparoscopic excision of the mass done as shown in video.
Late recurrence post nephrectomy maybe due to tumor bed or lymph node recurrence. The use of the robotic interface helped in getting a good clearance in usually inaccessible areas and also in good visualising of nearby organs.
