Distributed ledgers are changing how we do business. In a nutshell, distributed ledgers eliminate the need for a centralized repository of information or a centralized authority to validate transactions. This simple innovation has tremendous implications for every step of the payments transaction - from identifying and authenticating the customer to securing transaction records to monitoring for suspicious activity. There is much more to distributed ledger technology (DLT) than cryptocurrencies. This panel, moderated by technology evangelist Josh Mather of Vantiv now Worldpay, will look at some of the most promising DLT applications for the payments business.
