Although exact numbers are difficult to track, cancer is a leading cause of death for cats. Some estimates place the number of cats diagnosed with cancer annually at nearly 6 million. Remaining up to date on the latest information and approaches to diagnosing and treating feline cancer is important to your daily practice. This session will highlight key updates on advanced feline cancer diagnostics, including PARR (PCR for receptor rearrangement) and flow cytometry, and treatments, including chemotherapy (oral and injectable), immunotherapy and supportive/quality of life enhancements. Focus areas will include lymphoma, oral squamous cell carcinoma, injection site sarcoma and mast cell neoplasia. Particular emphasis will be placed on a practical approach to feline oncology with integrative case examples.
