This lecture will focus on a review of common ocular conditions of the cat that the general practitioner may encounter on a day-to-day basis. This lecture includes recognition, discussion, treatment options, and when referral is necessary of eyelid abnormalities (eyelid agenesis, eyelid masses, etc.), conjunctivitis (Mycoplasma, Chlamydophilia, Feline Herpes Virus etc.), corneal diseases (ulcers, sequestrum, bullous keratopathy, eosinophilic keratitis, etc.), anterior uveitis, iris melanoma versus melanosis, glaucoma, hypertensive retinopathy and Horner's syndrome. Medical and surgical modalities will be discussed which comply with current recommendations published in the gold standard textbook, by Gelatt, Veterinary Ophthalmology, as well as distinguished journals such as Veterinary Ophthalmology, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Journal of Veterinary Research.
