This class is designed to walk you through the basics of all the Microsoft Power BI tools. We’ll build dashboards, maps and even reports on data from files, services and websites. We’ll also review obtaining data from SQL databases.
When you leave the class, you’ll understand the Microsoft Power BI tools and the Microsoft Power BI application. We’ll even talk pricing, although most of it is FREE.

Instructor: Belinda Allen – Microsoft
Audience: Excel users and Developers; anyone interested in learning about Power BI.
Prerequisites: Students should have a general working knowledge of Excel
Preparation: Students will want to follow along on their own laptops. Note: The Power Bi Desktop does not run on Mac, so if using a MAC, you’ll need a windows simulator installed locally. It is not necessary to follow along on your own laptop to learn these tools, but it is strongly recommended.
Optional install: Excel 2016 Standalone, Excel 2013 Professional Plus, Microsoft Office Excel 2016 Professional Plus or Office 365 E3/E4 Subscriptions.
A week or two before the class, students will be provided with where to download tools and sample Excel spreadsheets.
