Protea Chemicals is one the worlds’ most complex AX WMS implementations for the largest chemical distributor on the African continent. Protea Chemicals is a division of the OMNIA Group. Omnia has more than 4500 employees in over 30 countries and is offering a differentiated supply of products and services in the Agricultural, Mining and Chemical industries. Omnia has embarked on a large scale implementation of Dynamics AX with a long term roadmap to move to Dynamics 365. Omnia is making use of the complete Dynamics platform including Advanced WMS, TMS and advanced QC. Protea Chemicals is the largest distributor of chemicals on the African continent with an extensive logistics and supply chain. Protea has more than 50 000m2 of warehouse capacity, offering a variety of bulk and packed products from 8 distribution hubs using more than 80 distribution vehicles. This implementation caters for 380 users and 140 RF devices for control of all aspects of the supply chain including production and Quality Control being tightly integrated into the processes.
