329316 - Compaction Grouting: Improving Existing Subgrade for Settling Infrastructure

Friday, April 20
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: 203A

With an aging infrastructure it has been necessary for limited access or limited disturbance techniques to be developed to strengthen existing subgrades. This presentation will present case studies for one such method. Compaction Grouting has been used for over 40 years for all types of structures: Railroads, Tanks, Roadways, Culverts, MSE Walls, Bridge Abutments, etc... The purpose of this presentation is to educate structural engineers of this tool, show how this tool has been used for multiple infrastructure projects, and discuss cost, benefits, and lessons learned.
