Scott Picco
Business Development Manager
UL LLC
Scott Picco has worked for UL since 2005 and is currently Business Development Manager and Regional Lead Reviewer for Distributed Energy Resources Equipment and Systems. His responsibilities include business development for new programs and service offerings in UL’s Energy Systems & E-Mobility Segment within the Energy & Power Technologies division (E&PT) in which he manages large power conversion equipment certification projects globally, and serves as the technical sales lead for inverters and other solar and energy storage equipment. Mr. Picco serves UL’s mission and the market’s needs by addressing global industry matters, such as advising, due diligence, evaluation, testing, and certification. During Scott’s tenure at UL he has led over 50+ inverter and distributed generation equipment certifications for a global client base, authored several updates to the UL 1741 / UL 62109 Standards later proposed to the standard technical panels, lived abroad in Frankfurt, Germany for 2 years to qualify local staff and launch a fully functional UL inverter lab, and served as UL’s global trainer for UL’s inverter and distributed generation engineering staff. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL.
