Dan Whitten

Vice President, Communications
Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)

As SEIA's Vice President of Communications, Dan oversees all of SEIA's internal and external communications efforts, including media relations, email marketing, digital and social media efforts, and others. Dan comes to SEIA after more than 15 years as an energy and environmental journalist including as a Bloomberg News energy reporter in Washington, where he covered legislative, regulatory and financial aspects of U.S. climate and energy policy debates. Most recently, Dan served as a senior director of communications at America's Natural Gas Alliance, overseeing the group's earned media efforts and playing a significant leadership role in advertising and social media campaigns, as well as the group's core issue campaigns.

Andrew Baumann

Senior Vice President
Global Strategy Group

Andrew Baumann began his career as a physicist before deciding to give up super colliders for Senate campaigns. Since becoming a strategist and pollster a decade ago, he has provided research and strategic advice to political campaigns, issue advocacy organizations, and corporations.

In 2016, Andrew helped Democrats in Nevada buck national trends, advising the winning Congressional campaign of Jacky Rosen and helping Senate Majority PAC’s successful effort on behalf of Senator-elect Catherine Cortez Masto.

He has also advised the campaigns of Senators Gary Peters (MI), Debbie Stabenow (MI), and Tom Udall (NM) while and helped guide the DSCC’s successful efforts to assist the elections of Senators Michael Bennet (CO) and Tammy Baldwin (WI).

In addition to his political work, Andrew is also one of the environmental community’s leading pollsters, having worked with NextGen Climate Action, LCV, EDF, the Sierra Club, and others on a range of climate and energy issues. He has also advised corporate and non-profit clients such as the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Arizona State University, and Entergy.

With degrees in Physics and Engineering from MIT and Stanford, Andrew also has extensive experience working with data scientists to develop new methodologies and develop and implement innovative analytical data solutions for clients.

Andrew runs GSG’s Denver office, where he lives with his wife Janet and their twin boys Teddy and Holden.

Matt K. Lewis is a Senior Columnist for the Daily Beast, a CNN political commentator and author of the book Too Dumb to Fail: How the GOP Betrayed the Reagan Revolution to Win Elections (and How It Can Reclaim Its Conservative Roots).

He is also a contributing editor for TheWeek.com, and a former senior contributor for the Daily Caller. Previously, Matt served as a columnist for AOL’s Politics Daily, and before that as a blogger for Townhall.com. He is exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau.

RightWingNews named Matt one of the “50 Best Conservative Columnists” in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The American Conservative Union named him the 2012 CPAC Blogger of the Year. Business Insider named Matt one of the 50 “Pundits You Need To Pay Attention To Between Now And The Election” in 2011. Additionally, the Young Conservatives Coalition’s selected Matt as a recipient of their second annual “Buckley Award” in 2011.

Matt’s work has also appeared in outlets such as GQ, POLITICO, and the Guardian — and he has been quoted or cited by major media outlets including New York Magazine, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Associated Press. As a commentator, Matt has appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, ABC’s Nightline, and HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

Jen Psaki

Former White House Communications Director, CNN Contributor

Described by The New York Times as, “the unflappable and genial point-person ” to the media during the various crises of President Obama’s campaign and presidency, Jen Psaki was one of the first people to walk in the door of the White House when the President took office, and one of the last to walk out when he left.

She served as the final White House Communications Director during the Obama Administration advising the President on communications strategy for issues ranging from domestic policy, to foreign policy to politics. Prior to her role at the White House, she was on the front line of every international crisis as the State Department Spokesperson conducting a daily briefing with members of the domestic and international media and serving as primary strategic communications advisor to Secretary John Kerry.

Psaki is currently the Vice President for Communications and Strategy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She is also a Senior Advisor at West Exec Advisors and an opinion writer and on-air contributor at CNN.
