<h1>  shared a speaker with you!</h1><div><b>Name:</b> Lori Bird</div><div><b>Organization:</b> National Renewable Energy Laboratory</div><div><b>Position:</b> Principal Policy Analyst</div><div><b>Bio:</b> Lori Bird is a principal analyst in the markets and policy group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She currently leads work examining market and regulatory issues related to distributed solar PV, including grid-related and market access challenges. Recently, she helped launch the new Solar Energy Innovation Network program, designed to assist states, cities, grid operators and other stakeholders in implementing novel solutions to solar market barriers. During her time at NREL, she has authored more than 100 reports and articles on renewable energy policy and markets, including publications in academic and trade journals. Her work has been referenced in numerous U.S. newspapers and magazines, including Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Business Week. She has also provided testimony to state legislatures and advises international clients on renewable energy strategies. Before joining NREL, she worked for DOE’s Denver Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and Hagler Bailly Consulting. She holds a master's degree in Environmental Studies from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and lives in a solar-powered house in Boulder, Colorado with her husband and two children.</div>
