Avoid costly code violations and permitting errors that can cut into solar contractor profits. This course reviews current (2017) National Electrical Code requirements for PV equipment and PV system installations, paying particular attention to Articles 690 and 705. It covers equipment listing requirements, PV circuit calculations, wiring methods, grounding, over-current protection, system labeling requirements and common code violations. Electrical contractors, PV installers, and inspectors will learn about 2017 NEC requirements and best practices for installing PV systems, as well as free online resources.

Julei Brazeau works as the Solar Technical Asistance Coordinator for the Midwest Renewable Energy Association as part of the MREA Training Programs Team. She is a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional Emeritus, IREC Certified Affiliated Instructor for PV Installation Professional, Wisconsin Master Electrician, and Wisconsin Commercial Electrical Inpsector.
Julie has trained over 400 electrical inspectors and installers from across the Midwest regarding National Electric Code requirements for PV systems and was named 2018 Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Instructor of the Year.
