Tanuj Deora is the chief strategy officer of the Smart Electric Power Alliance (formerly known as the Solar Electric Power Association), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization focused on facilitating electricity utilities in the transition to a clean energy future through research, education, and stakeholder collaboration. There he leads the research, advisory, and communications teams, and oversees SEPA’s 51st State Initiative.

Mr. Deora’s decade of experience in the clean power industry includes includes wind power project development, policy advocacy, strategy consulting, market forecasting, and financial analysis. He served in the cabinet of Governor John Hickenlooper as director of the Colorado Energy Office, and earlier served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica. Mr. Deora is a member of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Solar Analysis and Implementation Advisory Board, has also served as an advisor to the Rational Middle Energy Series, co-founded the Colorado Renewable Energy Conservation Collaborative, and served on the board of Renewable Energy New England. He started his career as an engineer in the chemical industry and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Logan heads up the Energy Storage insight team at Bloomberg New Energy Finance. He leads the company’s analysis on the global energy storage markets, providing insight on technology, markets, policies and regulation, and the competitive landscape. He also oversees BNEF’s Flexibility and Resiliency focus area, a cross-company effort to provide insights on flexibility and market design.
He advises utilities, technology companies, investors and policymakers across these fields. He has authored numerous research papers and regularly speaks at international conferences and in the mainstream media. He was previously a Senior Associate within the Energy Smart Technologies team and regularly works on consulting projects for clients, such as the Zayed Future Energy Prize where he was the Project Manager from 2011 to 2013. He joined the company in 2009 as an analyst focused on the wind and solar sectors across the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining the company, he has previously worked at the Next Century Foundation which is a nonprofit political think tank focused on conflict resolution. He holds an MA (Hons) from Edinburgh University in Arabic.

Thomas Maslin

Mr. Maslin’s research focuses on all aspects of the North American solar and grid-storage markets, including: project development trends, technology cost and performance, corporate strategies, supply chain, and targeted policies. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Maslin held several research positions in academia, think tanks, and the private sector, including at Duke University, University of Maryland, and King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research. Mr. Maslin holds a BS in environmental science from Bucknell University and a Master of Environmental Management focusing on energy policy, technology, and economics from Duke University.

Andrea Romano

Associate Director
Navigant Consulting, Inc.

Andrea Romano is an Associate Director in the Energy Practice at Navigant in San Francisco. Andrea's work focuses on helping private and public entities make decisions regarding distributed energy resources (DERs) including procuring renewable energy, market and policy assessments, business model analysis and financial modeling, distributed generation technical potential and technology adoption modeling. Most recently, Andrea has been focused on working with corporates looking to procure renewable energy to meet their sustainability needs and utilities and developers working to meet growing corporate demand. Over the past couple of years, Andrea has worked with utilities across the country on community solar program and rate design, incorporating lessons learned and best practices. Additionally, she has conducted wind and energy efficiency market research and is focused on becoming an expert on the current landscape of zero net energy buildings.

Andrea began her career in commercial and utility solar project development, spending three years working at a solar EPC firm. Her other work has included writing Energy Independence Plans for cities and businesses, evaluating the economics of renewable technologies and grant writing on behalf of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Andrea has an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Atmosphere and Energy from Stanford University and a BS in Environmental Studies with a Minor in Writing from University of California, Santa Barbara.
