This session features residential solar financiers that offer loans, leases, and other innovative funding products. They will identify the current landscape and consumer preferences, forecast where the market is heading in the next decade, and what innovations and efficiencies the industry can implement to expand the residential solar market.

Barry Cinnamon

Chief Executive Officer
Cinnamon Energy Systems, Inc.

Barry Cinnamon is CEO of Cinnamon Energy Systems, a Silicon Valley solar and energy storage contractor. After 10,000 solar installations at Akeena and Westinghouse Solar, he's developed a pretty good perspective on the real-world economics of rooftop solar – including the benefits and challenges with installing residential and commercial energy storage systems.

Barry continues to work passionately towards better solar and battery storage public policies -- especially those that reduce soft costs. His rooftop tinkering led to the development of integrated racking (2007), AC solar modules (2009), and Spice Solar (the fastest way to install rooftop solar modules). He earned a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT (his thesis was on a new type of flat plate collector) and an MBA degree in Marketing from Wharton. He is a licensed California C-46 Solar Contractor, NABCEP Emeritus solar installer, host of the weekly Energy Show on KDOW, regular contributor to Solar Wakeup Call and Greentech Media, and former CALLSA President and SEIA Board Member.

Vikram Aggarwal is the founder and chief executive of EnergySage, the industry’s leading online comparison-shopping marketplace for rooftop solar, community solar, and solar financing. He started EnergySage after more than 15 years of experience with Fidelity Investments, where he specialized in private equity investing, growth strategy, marketing, and new business development. Vikram’s thought leadership on solar industry innovation has appeared in Bloomberg, Consumer Reports, Forbes, Kiplinger, Money Magazine and Scientific American. He was one of only two cleantech entrepreneurs named to the Boston Globe’s 2016 Game Changers list. Vikram holds an MBA from Northeastern University and is a CFA charterholder.

Yoni Cohen

Yoni serves as Sunlight’s Head of Business Development and Marketing. Before joining Sunlight as its second employee, Yoni led business development for Amprius, an energy storage company.

Prior to Amprius, Yoni contributed to Greentech Media, helped Clean Power Finance win DOE SunShot grants, and worked in impact investing, at venture capital firms DBL Investors and Israel Cleantech Ventures. Earlier in his career, Yoni reported about college basketball for Fox Sports and directed communications for political campaigns.

Yoni holds a J.D. from the Yale Law School and a B.A. in Political Science and Finance from Washington University in St. Louis.

Amir Friedman

Amir Friedman oversees Mosaic’s bank partnership programs, which in addition to whole loan acquisitions provide banks and credit unions the opportunity to leverage Mosaic's point of sale technology platform and proprietary distribution channel to accelerate customer acquisition. Friedman previously held a similar role as Head of Bank Partnerships for Prosper Marketplace (the first US P2P lending platform), and prior to that held senior business development and capital markets positions at American Express and Prospect Capital. Friedman holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Allison Mond

Allison Mond is a Senior Solar Analyst at GTM Research, focusing on the competitive landscape of the U.S. downstream solar market. Allison is the lead analyst behind the distributed Solar Data Hub, a tool which allows clients to manipulate and analyze city- and company-level data for distributed solar markets. Prior to joining GTM, Allison was a Senior Analyst at Compass Lexecon, an economic consulting firm, where she carried out research and data analysis for litigation and regulatory cases in the electricity and natural gas industries. Allison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Colby College.
