The Arc of Prince George’s County is a 600-member plus agency. We provide a lifetime of support to people with developmental disabilities and their families. We structure our supports to help people with disabilities pursue their interests and passion and take control of their lives.

Mission Statement: The Arc Prince George's County ... offering a lifetime of support, understanding, and opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Achieve with us.

Four years ago The Arc launched an exciting new initiative we’re calling Community Links. This project, targeting persons that we support in our three adult day centers throughout the county, is designed to develop a wide array of community partnerships in such areas of arts, fitness, and personal development. Community Links measured its success by steadily increasing participation of individuals in our day programs as they explore new enrichment opportunities and join groups of people with shared interests in inclusive community settings. Moreover, these services and supports are no longer restricted to facilities, but in the communities where people we support live. The Arc staff strives to ensure that individuals in the Community Links Program prosper in their chosen positions in an integrated and customized work setting.

With the success of the piloting of our Community Links program we have been able to completely transition two of our day centers from community based to facility based. The first center closed in summer 2017 and the second in spring 2018 with a 2019 target for the third center to transition. The journey was not an easy one as we spent a great deal of time educating and communicating with families and caregivers. We also spent many hours with discovery to listen and learn what the people that we support want, desire and supports needed to have the most inclusive and least restrictive lives as possible
