Cloud Laboratories have been around for several years and offer the convenience of smart technology on a large scale, with access to initiate experiments and analyze data from anywhere. Cloud Laboratories and their automated platforms afford users several positive attributes when looking to expand capabilities via the external screening environment.

At Pfizer, we initiated a pilot study to assess the quality of data produced at a Cloud Laboratory using an established biochemical luciferase assay. The data was then compared to that produced by a CRO (Contracted Research Organization) using a workstation approach to run an equivalent assay and conclusions were made.
