Chronic non-healing wounds significantly reduce quality of life, and may lead to serious events, such as limb amputations or premature death. Speakers will share the latest clinical and scientific understandings of the role biofilm plays in delayed wound healing, followed by a hands-on, interactive workshop where attendees will have the opportunity to apply their learnings through the assessment and management of a series of “real-world” case studies illustrating a range of clinical scenarios that represent typical chronic wound caseloads.
The program will combine presentations from experts in the field with practical application on live models using state of the art wound prosthetics. Attendees will learn to recognize and manage the direct and indirect clinical indicators of biofilm in a range of non-healing chronic wounds, and appropriate management strategies.
