Post-Acute Care

Session 31: Own Your Outcomes: Driving Down Hospital-Acquired Pressure Ulcers in the Cardiac Surgery ICU

Sunday, November 4
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Location: Forum 1-4

The prevention of pressure ulcers is often discussed and remains a challenge in patient care particularly in the critically ill patient population. This session will discuss the additional risk factors in this patient population, and present a successful performance improvement program implemented in a Cardiac Surgery ICU, which resulted in a dramatic decrease in pressure ulcer incidence and an ongoing successful prevention program.
