Wednesday, April 25
13:00 - 14:00
Liffey Meeting Room 1

Level: Basic
Presentation Type: Presentation

For people working in Oil & Gas, the term induced seismicity is becoming accepted terminology. But what about the rest of people living on this earth? There are numerous scientific papers and websites available with some very good data sets available for public consumption. This presentation will explain this phenomenon (defined as "earthquakes and tremors that are caused by human activity that alters the stresses and strains on the Earth's crust") and how a citizen data scientist can poll and then integrate existing sites to gain an understanding about why the ground shakes beneath our feet. The goal of this session is to go through a step-by-step process using various Microsoft technologies such as Flow, PowerApps & Power BI of how a user can take data from several websites, find the integration point(s), create meaningful visual reports and then set up an automated process (set & forget) that ensures updates to data information are available.
