Neera V. Gopee, DVM., PhD,is a veterinary medical officer in the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Gopee earned her veterinary degree at the University of the West Indies and holds a doctoral degree in Toxicology from the University of Georgia. Prior to her appointment at OLAW, she served as a veterinary medical officer at the National Center for Toxicological Research, US Food and Drug Administration in Jefferson, Arkansas. Dr. Gopee is board certified in toxicology and laboratory animal medicine.

Nancy Figler Marks, DVM, MS, DACLAM

IACUC Office Director; Veterinarian
University of Iowa

Nancy Figler Marks has been the Director of the IACUC Office and IACUC Veterinarian at the University of Iowa since 2012. Previously she worked for 14 years in various veterinary and regulatory roles with Parke Davis and later Pfizer.

Toni O'Connell, MS, CPIA

Toni O'Connell, MS, CPIA is the IACUC Administrator for Pfizer in Groton, Connecticut where she coordinates multiple aspects of the IACUC from post approval monitoring to generating literature searches for Principal Investigators. Ms. O'Connell has over 17 years of experience working in IACUC administration including serving as an IACUC Chair. Toni is currently an IACUC non-affiliated member for the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. In addition to IACUC administration, Ms. O'Connell has an extensive background working as a biological safety officer managing a Federal Select Agent Program. She received her CPIA certification in April 2013 and has participated as a PRIM&R Conference speaker. Ms. O'Connell enjoys serving as a mentor to junior colleagues and those interested in CPIA certification. In 2017, Ms. O'Connell worked to establish the Connecticut IACUC Administrators Practice Networking Group and serves as a Co-Chair.
