Dr. Trudy Voortman is an epidemiologist and nutrition scientist working at Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She leads a research group on the role of nutrition in health throughout the life course, from pregnancy and infancy to old age. She holds BSc and an MSc degree in Nutrition and Health from Wageningen University, an MSc degree in Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences (NIHES), and a PhD degree in Epidemiology from Erasmus University. Previously she worked as scientist at Unilever Research & Development in the Netherlands, at the Nestle Research Center in Switzerland, and at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. Dr. Voortman has so far published 58 international scientific papers and 2 book chapters. She is an active member of the European Nutrition Leadership Platform and the American Society for Nutrition and she is a board member of the Dutch Academy for Nutrition Sciences.

Katherine M. Livingstone, PhD

Dr Livingstone has expertise in nutritional epidemiology, randomised controlled trials, cohort studies, nutritional genomics and biochemistry. She currently lead a research program within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition at Deakin University (Australia) to understand the relationship between dietary patterns and obesity and cardiometabolic health. Dr Livingstone has particular expertise in personalised nutrition science, established during her postdoctoral training at Newcastle University (UK), and dietary patterns research, established during her fellowships at Deakin University. Since commencing her PhD in 2010, Dr Livingstone has been awarded two international fellowships, five research awards and nine international travel awards. Dr Livingstone has published 43 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the top-ranking journals in her field, of which she is lead author on 26 of these publications (i.e. 61%). Dr Livingstone has also authored four edited book chapters by Elsevier. Her publications have been cited 618 times (Google Scholar) and has a H-index of 14. She has disseminated her research findings at national (n=3) and international (n=22) conferences as both oral (n=18) and poster (n=10) presentations.

Dr. Lynn L. Moore is a nutritional epidemiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She is also the Director of the Nutrition and Metabolism graduate programs (MS and PhD) at the School of Medicine. She received her doctoral degree in epidemiology in 1993 from the B.U. School of Public Health and completed her training in nutritional epidemiology at the Channing Laboratories at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Moore’s research for many years has focused on nutrition, obesity, and cardiometabolic disorders. She has published numerous studies related to diet, body fat, weight change and metabolically-related outcomes such as cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. She has worked extensively with many large epidemiologic data sets and clinical trials. Her most recent academic award, the 2017 Robert Dawson Evans Teaching Award at the Boston University School of Medicine, was given for her outstanding work as a teacher and mentor.
