23 - Exceptional Strategies for Twice Exceptional Learners: A Case Study

During this session, participants explore a case study highlighting the lived educational journey of three twice-exceptional gifted students attending a P-12 laboratory school and the implications of the study for educators supporting gifted learners. Incorporating attendee perceptions and experiences, participants engage in dialogue to support the development of strategies that may be implemented upon return to their campuses.

With 15 years of experience in public education, Jilliane McCardle has enjoyed working alongside students, teachers, and families in Houston, TX, Gainesville, FL, and currently Richmond, KY. Her various roles have included teacher, Instructional Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Instructional Coach. Before moving to Kentucky, Jilliane was also an Adjunct Lecturer in Educational Leadership at the University of Florida. Currently, she is the Gifted Services and Curriculum Coordinator at Model Laboratory School at Eastern Kentucky Univeristy, where she also serves as a course facilitator and instructor. She earned her Educational Doctorate in Leadership from the University of Houston.
