Gifted programs across the nation are disproportionally serving middle-class White and Asian students. This presentation describes findings from an evaluation of an elementary school talent-development model in a large school district in Washington State. The research evaluated the effects of the program on increasing the number of minority students identified for gifted education and the impacts on participants’ academic achievement.
