Associate Vice Provost for International Education

Dr. David L. Di Maria serves as the associate vice provost for international education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He previously served as associate provost for international programs at Montana State University. Dr. Di Maria frequently presents, publishes, consults and trains on best practices pertaining to international education administration. He currently holds leadership positions with NAFSA’s International Education Leadership Knowledge Community, the Editorial Committee of the Association of International Education Administrators and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities’ Commission on International Initiatives. He previously served as chair of NAFSA's International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community, President of the American International Recruitment Council and he was a Neal Presidential Fellow with the Association of International Education Administrators. Dr. Di Maria earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His doctorate, which he received from the University of Minnesota, focused on internationalization from a P-16 perspective. Dr. Di Maria’s scholarly interests include campus services for international students, international student mobility and the application of systems thinking to internationalization of higher education.
