This is a unique opportunity for participants to visit and interact with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). During this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to speak with CBP officers and experience firsthand the processing of international visitors at Philadelphia International Airport. Tour includes primary and secondary inspection. There will be no on-site registration for this workshop.

As Director of International Students, Scholars, and Programs, Steve Sechrist oversees immigration andd visa services; international programs, advocacy, and outreach; and the English Language Program for the College of William & Mary. Prior to joining William & Mary in 2004, he worked at Indiana University's Office of International Services and served as an immigration officer with the INS at the Pre-Inspection Clearance Station in Montreal, Canada.

Bruce Gawtry

Macalester College

Bruce Gawtry is currently an immigration specialist at Macalester College and an advisor and immigration coordinator at the University of Minnesota. He recently retired as a CBP/INS supervisory officer. He was the only INS inspector detailed as a member of the CIPRIS/SEVIS Task Force. He is a past presenter at NAFSA conferences and also at several POE workshops. He is a frequent speaker at the Minnesota International Educators group.
