University of Michigan-Dearborn

Suzette Crandell is an international student/scholar advisor at The University of Michigan-Dearborn. She started her career at UM-Dearborn as a student assistant in the Office of Admissions & Orientation in 1993. She works in the Office of International Affairs, for the past 8 years; serving international students and scholars populations. In addition to advising F1/J1 students and scholars, she collaborates with Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions to support international students interested in pursuing a degree at UM-Dearborn. Suzette's favorite part of her job is witnessing student's growth and maturing from arrival here in the U.S. until graduation; where she sometimes gets to meet their families from their home country. Suzette also loves seeing scholars join campus and meeting their accompanying spouses and even celebrating their child’s births here in the U.S. Guiding her international students and scholars’ development in an effort to achieve their American educational goals and/or personal aspirations and dreams is her passion. Suzette believes she is very fortunate to able to witness her students/scholars achieve their milestones along the way.
