Pamela Barrett is Director and CEO of Barton Carlyle, the specialist international education management consultancy. Barton Carlyle has a worldwide client list and works to support institutions to deliver outstanding international strategy underpinned by market intelligence and best practice recruitment, communications, marketing and risk management tools. Previously Pamela led Higher Education Advisory at KPMG, where she remains an Associate. As Education Attaché at the British Embassy in Washington, DC, Pamela was responsible for the transatlantic relationship in education and has worked with the British Council in Malaysia. Pamela has also served as Associate dean at Allegheny College, was Director International at Napier University in Edinburgh, established the first USA Year Abroad programs at the University of Sheffield and was the first assistant dean at Regent's College in London. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of London, an MBA and a Master’s degree in International Relations from USC. A contributor to a number of specialist articles on education, including the NAFSA e-publication “International Enrollment Management Strategic Planning: An Integrated Approach” and the Universities UK “Guide to Enhancing the International Student Experience”; Pamela recently co-authored with ICEF Monitor “Beyond the Horizon: The Near Future of International Education”. Pamela is a regular presenter and trainer on international education in Europe and North America.

David L. Di Maria, EdD

Associate Vice Provost for International Education
University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Dr. David L. Di Maria serves as the inaugural associate vice provost for international education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His primary responsibility is to provide university-wide leadership on advancing the international dimensions of teaching, research and service. Prior to joining UMBC, he served as associate provost for international programs at Montana State University and director of international programs and services at Kent State University.

Dr. Di Maria frequently presents, publishes and consults on best practices pertaining to international education administration. He is a member-leader within NAFSA's International Education Leadership Knowledge Community, member of NAFSA's 2018 Annual Conference Committee and former chair of NAFSA's International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community. Outside of NAFSA, Dr. Di Maria serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of Public and Land-grant University's (APLU) Commission on International Initiatives, he is immediate past-president of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), and he is a member of the Editorial Committee of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA). Dr. Di Maria is a past recipient of NAFSA Region VI's Advocacy Award and a former AIEA Neal Presidential Fellow.

Dr. Di Maria earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a doctorate in educational policy and administration (international educator cohort) from the University of Minnesota. His dissertation research focused on campus services for international students. He holds professional certifications in project management, lean process improvement and training. Dr. Di Maria is the author of several recent publications on international education administration and the editor of Managing a Successful International Admissions Office: NAFSA's Guide to International Admissions.

George F. Kacenga, PhD

George F. Kacenga truly enjoys working with international students and has been an active professional in higher education for over 16 years serving domestic, international, and underserved populations. George will join Purdue University Northwest in July 2018 as the Executive Director of Global Engagement. With strengths including admissions, enrollment management, and student service, George serves as an active member of several professional organizations as a leader and presenter such as NAFSA, AACRAO, NAGAP, AIRC, and TAICEP. Together, George’s personal and professional paths have taken him to five continents, many countries, and into many more lasting relationships. George earned his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in Social and Comparative Analysis in Education. He is the recipient of an Administrator’s Fulbright award to S. Korea, the IERF Sepmeyer Research Grant, and the AIRC Marjorie Peace Lenn Research Award. George is eager to collaborate and find solutions that serve students and stakeholders alike and he welcomes your communication.

Matthew Beatty, EdD

Dr. Matthew Beatty is the Director of International Admissions at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. He provides strategic leadership and direction to the College's international recruitment and admission's operation in effort to achieve strategic enrollment and retention goals. Dr. Beatty has a rich background in international enrollment management and services. He's held several regional and national leadership roles for NAFSA and currently serves as Chair of the International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community. He earned his doctorate degree in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota with a focus on faculty engagement in comprehensive internationalization.
