Designed specifically for personnel who process admissions for transfer students, graduate students, or both. Practice the conversion of credits from the four main groups of academic credentials. Through a series of examples and exercises, participants receive guidance in working with credit-based, hours-based, marks-based, and outcome-based credentials. Determine how to convert grades to U.S. equivalents and calculate a grade point average.

Marshall Houserman is Director of Admissions at UIC Global, a partnership between the University of Illinois at Chicago and Shorelight Education. Prior to his current position Marshall spent over 6 years working as an Evaluator and Senior Evaluator with Educational Perspectives, nfp.

Marshall is a member of NAFSA Trainer Corps and has presented at state, regional and international level conferences including NAFSA and TAICEP. He has also contributed to the NAFSA IEM Spotlight Newsletter, the NAFSA Guide to Educational Systems Around the World, and the AACRAO International Guide.

He specializes in evaluations from Latin America and has presented his research at various conferences including NAFSA, NAGAP, CAIE, EAIE & CONAHEC. Carlos earned his bachelor's degree in international studies from Universidad de Guadalajara and his master's degree in international relations from City University of New York.

Connie has been working in the field of international education and associated information technologies since 2010. Connie is interested in continual process improvement in international admissions and credit transfer by simplifying and automating the underlying workflow. Connie is excited about a future where AI and AR/VR can add value to international admissions.
