Analyze basic credential elements including applicant data, translations, authenticity of documents, and institutional accreditation. The activities throughout the workshop distinguish steps required to properly evaluate international credentials: level of program, equivalency of program, and how to calculate credits, grades, and grade point average.

Marshall Houserman is Director of Admissions at UIC Global, a partnership between the University of Illinois at Chicago and Shorelight Education. Prior to his current position Marshall spent over 6 years working as an Evaluator and Senior Evaluator with Educational Perspectives, nfp.

Marshall is a member of NAFSA Trainer Corps and was lead trainer for the Credential Evaluation workshops at the 2018 NAFSA Annual Conference. He has presented at state, regional and international level conferences including NAFSA and TAICEP, and contributed to the NAFSA IEM Spotlight Newsletter, NAFSA Guide to Educational Systems Around the World, and the AACRAO International Guide.

Connie has been working in the field of international education and associated information technologies since 2010. Connie is interested in continual process improvement in international admissions and credit transfer by simplifying and automating the underlying workflow. Connie is excited about a future where AI and AR/VR can add value to international admissions.
