Sharing Session - 60 Minutes
The National Birth Equity Collaborative has engaged with several local and state health departments, targeting internal hospital and health system policies that may perpetuate poor birth and maternal health outcomes. This session will highlight the policy improvements that Campaign for Black Babies pilot cities are undergoing to actively dismantle systems of inequity, creating the evidence base needed for policy change for racial equity. We will discuss the local assessment process, along with the equity training and program management necessary for a rigorous equity work plan. We will also discuss challenges we have faced with health departments and potential solutions.
