G8 - Hepatitis A Outbreak in Michigan: Detroit Health Department Strategies and Lessons Learned

This session will describe the unique epidemiological features of the current Hepatitis A outbreak in Detroit and Southeast Michigan and discuss methods for reaching high-risk populations with education and vaccination. Panelists will discuss the implications associated with prioritization of individuals for vaccination within the context of contrained vaccine supply, and describe the processes for implementing sustained vaccination programs in emergency departments, Federally Qualified Health Centers , and intake points at shelters.
