Athena Hall, MPH, PhD Candidate
SisterFriends Program Coordinator
Detroit Health Department
○ Athena Hall attended Wilberforce University a private (HBCU) and majored in Biology/Pre-Med. Upon receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, she immediately enrolled in George Washington University to pursue her Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy. While completing her degree, she joined Academy Health, and started a student chapter at her school, and collaborated with local women’s shelters, hosting food and clothing drives. Because of her passion for those underrepresented and underserved in the health care system, and the desire to effect change in the disproportionate rates of infant mortality within those populations, she now works with SisterFriends Detroit helping to coordinate need areas. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Public Health, Community Education at Walden University.
