Nathan D. Schilaty, DC, PhD develops novel techniques to explore the neural activity that drives muscle performance. His interest areas include: neuromechanics of movement, sex-based differences of anterior cruciate ligament injury, modeling of injury mechanisms, and return to sport criteria for sport injury. These areas of research aim to identify at-risk individuals and generate clinically effective injury reduction interventions. His research has emphasis on the neural pathways that directly contribute to motor control and performance. Consequently, Dr. Schilaty's work will clinically translate into advancements in the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of athletic injuries, with particular emphasis to the anterior cruciate ligament. Dr. Schilaty is an Associate Consultant and an Assistant Professor of Physiology in the College of Medicine and Science at Mayo Clinic.
