Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine
The University of Arizona Cancer Center

Dr. Kurtin is a Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at The University of Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson. She has 33 years of oncology experience. She maintains a busy clinical practice with expertise in hematological malignancies, clinical trials, symptom management, supportive care, caregiver support, and health informatics. She will defend her PhD dissertation at the University of Arizona in the Fall of 2018. Ms Kurtin is a founding board member for APSHO, and an active member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Oncology Nursing Society. Ms. Kurtin serves on a number of patient advocay boards, professional working groups, and editorial boards for peer-reviewed publications relevant to oncology and supportive care. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and lectures nationally and internationally.

Kevin Brigle, PhD, ANP

Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Virginia Commonwealth University, Massey Cancer Center

Dr. Brigle is an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at the Massey Cancer Center at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Dayton and his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Virginia Tech. Following completion of his dissertation, he took a position as a postdoctoral fellow and later as Laboratory Director in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University. While consulting on an NIH-funded grant in the School of Nursing, Dr. Brigle enrolled in the Nurse Practitioner Program and graduated in 1998. Following 1 year of practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine, Dr. Brigle came to his current position in the Hematological Malignancies Clinic at Massey Cancer Center. In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Brigle is Adjunct Faculty in the School of Nursing and has authored or co-authored 29 peer-reviewed journal articles and 5 book chapters.

Oncology Nurse Practitioner, Certified Clinical Densitometrist
Wellmont Cancer Institute

Kathy Sharp MSN, FNP-BC, CCD is an oncology nurse practitioner, certified clinical densitometrist, and provider for the Osteoporosis Clinic at the Wellmont Cancer Institute in Bristol, Virginia. She has 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner including emergency room practice, family practice and 15 years in Oncology. More than 12 years ago she started The Osteoporosis Clinic to address the bone health needs of the Oncology patient, but quickly opened this to outside referrals and is now serving patients and providers in a tri-state community.
