The goal of my labs research is to determine the mechanisms by which NFI transcription factors,
particularly Nfix, regulate neural stem cell (NSC) function. We will determine the specific cell type(s) in which
loss of Nfix results in aberrant brain development, identify the targets of NFIX in NSCs and their progeny,
determine the biochemical and genetic pathways affected by loss of NFIX that result in the aberrant phenotype
and assess the interactions between Nfia, Nfib and Nfix that regulate NSC proliferation and differentiation.

Glyn Stacey

Glyn Stacey has a background in microbiology and cancer research and progressed to cell biology and development of cell-based assays at CAMR in the UK. He moved to the NIBSC Institute where he set up a new cell biology division working on safety of cell substrates used for vaccine manufacture and establishment of genetic reference materials. In 2002, He established the UK Stem Cell Bank as its Doirector to supply stem cell lines for research and clinical use. He has been heaviliy invovled in drafting standards and has been a project PI and SAB member on numerous EC research programmes. He establish. Glyn also organised a meeting on Pluripotent Stem Cell Manufacturing in Los Angeles, 4-6th May 2018.

Prof. Nissim Benvenisty is the Herbert Cohn Chair in Cancer Research and the Director of The Azrieli Center for Stem Cells and Genetic Research at the Hebrew University. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Hebrew University, and conducted postdoctoral studies at Harvard University. Prof. Benvenisty’s research projects focus on stem cell biology, tissue engineering, human genetics, and cancer research.
