Dr. Muotri is a Professor at the UCSD in departments of Pediatrics and Cellular & Molecular Medicine and Director of the Stem Cell Program. His research focuses on modeling neurological diseases using human pluripotent stem cells, using cultured human neurons, glia and organoids. He has received several awards, including the prestigious NIH Director’s New Innovator, NARSAD, Rock Star of Innovation, NIH EUREKA among others.
