As a professor of Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, Doudna’s research focuses on RNA-mediated gene regulation and genome editing. Doudna is an Investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a recipient of multiple research awards. She is the co-author with Sam Sternberg of “A Crack in Creation”, a personal account of the advent of CRISPR gene editing technology and the societal and ethical implications of genome editing.
