Abstract : BACKGROUND: Decision Making process is importat in recognition and treatment in pediatric shock. The medical students are interested in learns the decision making process but in several times could be in electronic devices as usual serious games in adults. We have the development of this resource with the Garrobo Estudios, http://garroboestudio.blogspot.com
This team had developed another video games for educational purposes; but none simulation based, health o complex decision making background. Ishocko is a complex word from Shock as a physiological condition and Ishocko is a community guatemalian phrase to define a kid or child.
EDUCATIONAL GOAL: The authors are certified trainers and medical directors of pediatric advanced life support in Guatemala and Mexico. They had work in textbook about complex decision making and pediatrics emergencies scenarios. They use the approved algorithms from European Resuscitation Council and make the discussion for the game design with systems engineer and video game development staff. Afeter several discussion describes the algorithms and the virtual scenario to develop a several cases with systems to had measure of time, pitfalls in decisions and the final outcome of the scenario. The objetive is develop a tool available in Android for the medical students to have training in decision making.
CONCLUSION: The phase 1 of development was finished in Novemeber 2017, the testers endorsement with field test by gamers, medical students, physicians, designer engineers make the scheduled launch in March 2018 for the medical students in Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala first and then to other in Guatemala.
