In this class we will review the results of field and simulated testing of four different ditch liners used to reduce erosion in construction site temporary diversions. Included is a spray-on cement-based product, which can be applied much faster than installing rolled erosion control blankets. The potential costs and benefits will also be discussed.

Rich was born and raised in Maryland, educated at Virginia Tech and Purdue University, and has lived in North Carolina for more than 30 years. He has focused on water quality issues related to construction site management for the past several decades as a professor at North Carolina State University. He was awarded the Environmental Excellence Award from IECA and the Applied Research Award from the Soil Science Society of America.
