Erosion and Sediment Control
Level of Presentation: All: Suitable for a broad audience
Temporary erosion prevention BMPs (differentiated from those same BMPS that might be used to establish final perennial and permanent vegetation) proposed to limit soil erosion during periods of sequenced temporary inactive construction operations are based on specific manufacturer, DOT, or consultant standard specifications/provisions along with engineering judgment and experience. A full range of temporary erosion prevention BMPs will be discussed that were designed and implemented based on proposed service life, phase of work, and time of year. The class content (drawn from many experiences) will include an example decision matrix of temporary erosion prevention BMPs of standard practice developed for Minnesota Department of Transportation. The knowledge can be adapted to fit any means and methods used to define product types, classes or categories of BMPs,
